Hui Paoakalani is saddened by the loss of one of our finest founding board members

and dear friend Gene Chun. Gene will always be remembered for the way he shared the Aloha spirit with anyone who came out to the Great Salt Lake marina. Gene was a great paddler, and a dedicated member of our Hui. His service and kindness to each one of us and our Hawaiian community will be dearly missed but never forgotten. He took time to instruct our keiki and usually the last one to leave the lake when it was time to go home. Gene always made us laugh with his stories about his travels around the world. He also kept us well fed with our favorite donuts and Chow fun from Little World.
