HUI SCHEDULE FOR JULY 7 - 10, 2015

HUI PAOAKALANI SCHEDULE: KUMU KALEO’S ALPHA DELTA KAPPA CONVENTION IN SLC Tuesday July 7th: • 5 pm Drive to GSL Marina to hitch trailer and haul wa’a to Grand America Hotel (Only Ben, Butch & Darren) • 7 pm – 9 pm Unload and rig canoe in courtyard. Trailer will remain at Grand America Hotel east parking lot. Hui Members Wednesday July 8th: • 10 am All available Hui Members, Meet at Grand America Hotel to help Kumu set up. PHA student will arrive by 10:30 am. • 11 am – 12 Noon Convention workshop; Kumu also wants a Hui table so we can sell t-shirts and answer questions. Both wa’a need to be removed from the hotel courtyard by 1:30 pm and loaded back on the trailer and returned to the marina to rig and launch. • 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm All available Hui Members; Rig and launch wa’a at GSL Marina Thursday July 9th: • 10 am Shopping, pick up Ahi for Poke before 3 pm and drop off to Butch • 12 – 4 pm All available Hui Members: We need to move our 4 Men Canoe, Kumu Paoa, out of the Lokahi Exhibit. • 4 pm Lau Lau/ food prep (Larry and assigned group will make laulaus since we are only making about 100 or so small laulaus.) Everybody else can concentrate on their assigned foods Friday July 10th: • All Day Prep food as assigned • 3 pm Meet at GSL Marina to BBQ Chicken and set up • 5 pm Hawai’I group arrives at marina on a bus and will need to depart by 8:00 pm. SATURDAY JULY 11TH: NO PADDLE THIS WEEKEND. MENU: Laulau (Mini Laulaus with 1 bag luau leaves) Assigned: Larry assisted by assigned Hui members Poke 15 to 20 lbs. Assigned: Butch & Becki assisted by Ben, Kwan Ki etc. BBQ Chicken (30 lbs. of Korean Spicy Chicken) Assigned: Ben, Kwan Ki Rice (1 bag) Assigned: Larry’s Group Green Salad / Mango & Pineapple Cole Slaw Assigned: Shauna & Kawehi Cake / Desserts Assigned: Ben to order from Sam’s Club or Costco Plus Kawehi will make some cake. HAPPY JULY 4TH

Aloha Hui and Friends, Today we will be paddling in the morning from 10 am to 12 Noon. After we have a pot luck lunch, we will be pulling both outrigger canoes out of the water and preparing them for Kumu Kaleo and the ALPHA DELTA KAPPA Convention for teachers which will be held in Salt Lake City at the Grand America Hotel next week. Saturday Afternoon Paddle: June 27, 2015 @ 5 PM

Aloha Hui and Friends; We will be at the Great Salt Lake Marina for an afternoon paddle on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 5 PM thru 7 or 8 PM depending on the turn out. We will also have our usual pot luck meal at dinner time. Mexican is the theme for our pot luck menu.Come join us if you can for paddling and you can stay to watch the sunset on the Great Salt Lake if you want.
