We're looking forward to seeing everyone at the Duke Fest on June 4th!  10 am to 3 pm at the Great Salt Lake. 
This is a FREE event.  FREE Outrigger Canoe Rides, Stand UP Paddle Demo, OC 6 Sprint Racing Demo, OC 1 Demo.

Friday night Pauhana paddle/pot luck(lite snacks) 5:30 pm.

Just a few reminders...


*We will have Laulau and Poke tickets available for purchase at Kanikapila tomorrow night.  Please let your family and friends know.  A link to the flyer is attached and the flyer is also posted on the blog.

*Paddle will be scheduled for Saturday to start at 10 am.
FYI...The Leong's and Kawaakoa's will be selling plate lunches and will deliver to the lake that day. If you are interested in purchasing one please e-mail Larry  by clicking here.  The plate lunches are $10.00 each and include: kalua pork, teri chicken, samoan chop suey, mac/potato salad, and rice.   


*Duke Kahanamoku Water festival on June 4th.  Hui Paoakalani will host the 3rd Annual Duke Paoa Kahanomoku Water Festival on June 4th at the Great Salt Lake.  This is a FREE family event...so let your family and friends know.  The Water fest will showcase our Hawaiian Outrigger Canoes with sprint OC6 demonstrations as well as canoe rides for the general public.  There will also be a Stand-up Paddle demonstration.  
Hui Paoakalani members are invited to assist in this event.

Rain in the forecast...No pauhana paddle on Thursday.

Looks like there is rain in the forecast for Thursday...so we will not be paddling.  Our next paddle will be scheduled for Saturday.  This is "weather permitting" of course!

MAHALO TO EVERYONE WHO CAME OUT TO THE LAKE ON SATURDAY!  IT WAS A GREAT DAY WITH GOOD PADDLING, GOOD FRIENDS, GOOD FOOD, AND LOTS OF FUN!  FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO COULDN'T COME...WE MISSED YOU AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU SOON!

A PAUHANA(AFTER WORK) PADDLE FOR THIS THURSDAY.  BE SURE TO CHECK THE BLOG BEFORE YOU LEAVE HOME/WORK.  RIGHT NOW THE WEATHER IS A LITTLE QUESTIONABLE.  WE WILL HAVE A DECISION POSTED BY NOON THAT DAY.

ALSO...FYI...IT'S TIME FOR ANOTHER QUARTERLY LAULAU FUNDRAISER!  TICKETS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE AT KANIKAPILA THIS FRIDAY.  A FLYER WILL BE POSTED SOON.  PLEASE LET YOUR FRIENDS KNOW.  

THE PICK UP DATE IS: JUNE 18TH   9 AM TO NOON AT THE HAWAIIAN CULTURAL CENTER.

WE WILL HAVE (2) DIFFERENT TYPES OF LAULAU AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE.

PORK LAULAU WILL BE AVAILABLE  (5) LAULAU FOR $20.00

BUTTERFISH AND PORK LAULAU WILL BE AVAILABLE (4) LAULAU FOR $2O.00

IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW...OUR FUNDRAISERS HELP PAY FOR OUR HUI PAOAKALANI EXPENSES SUCH AS: SHACK RENTAL AND REPAIR, WA'A MAINTENENCE, PADDLE MAINTENENCE, TRAILER REGISTRATION AND MAINTENENCE, INSURANCE, PAPER PRODUCTS, CLEANING SUPPLEIS ETC.  

**PLEASE NOTE THAT NO ONE ON THE  HUI PAOAKALANI BAORD IS PAID.  ALL BOARD MEMBERS GIVE OF THEIR TIME/RESOURCES VOLUNTARILY.  YOUR SUPPORT TO OUR FUNDRAISERS AND YOUR HELP WITH KEEPING OUR EQUIPMENT MAINTAINED WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AND WILL ALLOW US TO KEEP OUR MEMBERSHIP RATES LOW.
