Aloha Hui Family & Friends,
Mahalo for making Hui Paoakalani's 2017 paddling season a very successful one! Our paddling season is officially all pau!!! The Hui will still be needing some help to pull both wa'a out of the H20 at a later date (in October) and help with loading our sailing wa'a (Kai Lana Kaleo) on our trailer and relocating her to our dry dock at the Medeiros Hale in Centerville for maintenance and fiberglass work. We hope to re-launch Kai Lana Kaleo for sailing in the Spring of 2018. Further updates to follow.
Mahalo.
Hui Paoakalani is Utah's FIRST Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe Club. We are affiliated with the Ka Lama Mohala Foundation. Our paddle season generally runs March - September (weather permitting). We paddle at the Great Salt Lake, all ages and skill levels are welcome. E-mail your questions to: huipaoakalani@gmail.com. See you at the lake!

SATURDAY PADDLE - AUGUST 26, 2017
Aloha Hui Members and Friends:
We will be paddling this Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 10 am to 2 pm. We hope that you will be able to make it as the football season starts soon and the paddling season (and summer) is coming to it's end. We have had a short paddling season with all of the work done dredging the marina, but the marina is finally looking like itself as the sailboats - yachts are back in the water. We will benefit from all the work done in the marina in the future. Come on out and have some fun to end the summer.
Current weather forecasts show temperatures in the low 90's with a mostly sunny sky and winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph. This usually means that we will have a great paddle and enjoyable time under the tree and pavilion. Our menu for the potluck luncheon will be Auntie Becki's delicious clam chowder and famous cornbread. Please bring your favorite dish or dessert to share with us. As usual, if you have any questions, call me at 801-721-7026.
