HUI PAOAKALANI 2016 PADDLING SEASON - SATURDAY, MAY 28, 2016

Aloha Hui Paoakalani Members and Friends,

We  have had a late start to our paddling season because of availability issues with our Hui members.  Earlier this spring we have met and worked on the maintenance of our equipment and canoes.  However, we have not had time to launch any of the canoes due to uncertainties with the marina dredging, hurricane like wind conditions at the marina, bad weather and other family commitments.  However, we are launching one of our canoes this coming Memorial Day weekend, specifically, Saturday, May 28th.  Hopefully, this will allow us to start a regular paddling schedule in June and continue throughout the summer months.

Therefore, if you are available, please join Uncles Butch, Ben and Kwan Ki this Saturday to haul, rig and secure one of the canoes at 10 am on Saturday, May 28th.  We plan to have a potluck luncheon sometime around 1 pm.  Please bring some of your favorites.  We plan to barbecue some char siu pork ribs and anything else you want to bring.  If you have any questions, please call Ben Au at 801-721-7026.  Mahalo,  Ben
